On July 12, Hisense officially announced the new-generation E Ink phone A10, revealing the device's exterior design and partial core specifications. This marks Hisense's first E Ink phone release in four years.

The Hisense A10 features a 6.13-inch E Ink display on the front, designed to deliver a paper-like viewing experience ideal for extended e-book reading, note annotation, and exam preparation. It meets the needs of heavy reading users who require eye protection and low power consumption.

The device's biggest design highlight is on the back: the Hisense A10 supports a magnetically detachable color LCD secondary screen, which can be used for browsing text and images, viewing color comics and charts, and satisfying daily entertainment and social media needs. This design approach balances the reading experience of an E Ink display with the content richness of a color LCD screen, allowing users to switch between screen formats depending on the usage scenario.

Core Specifications

The Hisense A10 is powered by a 4nm-process octa-core Qualcomm chipset, running Android 16 out of the box, with support for 5G full-band connectivity and Wi-Fi 6.

Hisense stated that the new phone is primarily targeted at heavy reading users, students preparing for exams, individuals sensitive to dry eyes, and light productivity users.

For reference, Hisense's previous-generation E Ink phone, the A9, was released in May 2022 with a starting price of 1,799 yuan. It featured a 6.1-inch, 300 PPI custom E Ink display and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 4G processor.
