On the evening of June 25, Bigme announced via its official WeChat account that the world's first large dual-screen color ePaper phone — the HiBreak Dual 2 — is about to debut.
The phone is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor and features a 6.13-inch color or black-and-white ePaper display as the main screen, along with a 5.0-inch LCD panel on the back. Previously disclosed information indicates the device has scored over 1.6 million on AnTuTu benchmarks.
In April this year, Bigme released a color/black-and-white ePaper + LCD dual-screen phone powered by the Dimensity 1080 processor, starting at a pre-order price of $359 (approximately ¥2,448). However, its LCD screen was merely a small circular secondary display on the back, unable to serve as a primary screen — a detail that left some users disappointed.
In response to the secondary screen controversy, Bigme published an open letter titled "Reflections and Apologies Regarding the HiBreak Dual Main/Secondary Screen Phone," stating the company had thoroughly reflected on the matter and confirmed that an ePaper + LCD dual-screen phone had officially entered its R&D pipeline.
